A Historic Home Reopens: Cottagers' Corner Begins a New Chapter

The Cottagers, Incorporated celebrated a defining moment in its 70-year history on June 24 with the Grand Reopening of Cottagers' Corner, the organization's newly restored headquarters and one of Oak Bluffs' most treasured historic buildings. The standing-room-only celebration marked not only the completion of an extensive restoration but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the organization.

The event welcomed Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, whose participation underscored the significance of the occasion, along with State Senator Julian Cyr, local elected officials, community leaders, donors, restoration partners, and friends of The Cottagers. Together, they celebrated nearly six decades of Cottagers' Corner serving as a place where community, culture, and service come together.

Guests enjoyed inspiring remarks reflecting on the building's history and The Cottagers' enduring legacy of service, followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting, a celebratory toast, and a reception that filled the beautifully restored space with conversation and renewed purpose. The day's festivities reflected both gratitude for those who made the restoration possible and excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead.
